Hey Paymattic users, Paymattic 4.6.23 is here.
This release delivers two of our most requested additions: a comprehensive Gift Aid declaration system designed for UK charities, and a new Fee Recovery field that enables you to pass processing fees to the payer.
We’ve also improved the GiveWP migration experience, refined tabular product checkboxes, and shipped a couple of important fixes.
What’s New in Paymattic 4.6.23
Here’s what’s touched in this update:
- Gift Aid declaration support for UK charities and nonprofits
- Fee Recovery field to offset payment processing fees
- Improved GiveWP donation migration
- Improved multi-select checkboxes in tabular products
- Fixes for conditional logic validation and Stripe IPN sync
Gift Aid Declaration Support (UK)
If you’re a UK charity collecting donations through Paymattic, you can now capture Gift Aid consent directly on your form and export it in the format HMRC expects.
Until now, many teams had to rely on third‑party tools or manual spreadsheets, which is slow, error-prone, and hard to audit.
With Paymattic 4.6.23, you get:
- A native Gift Aid field that records the donor’s declaration (with address details)
- A new Export Gift Aid Declarations option inside the form entries view
- An export file that’s HMRC ChR1‑compatible (CSV) ready to submit with no reformatting
Common use cases
- Run fundraising campaigns and export a quarterly HMRC-ready CSV in minutes
- Filter declarations by date range to isolate a specific tax year
- Add Gift Aid to event registration + donation forms without separate paperwork
- Help finance teams avoid spreadsheet column mapping and manual cleanup
No workarounds. No manual wrangling. Just a compliant export in a couple of clicks.
Fee Recovery Field
Processing fees add up, especially for nonprofits and service businesses. But passing those costs on has often required custom setups or awkward pricing workarounds.
The new Fee Recovery field lets you add a clear opt‑in (or automatic) surcharge to any form. Paymattic calculates the fee dynamically based on:
- the payment total, and
- the fee rate you configure
So payers can see exactly what they’re covering before they submit, and the recovered fee is recorded alongside the main payment in your transaction details.
Common use cases
- Add a “Cover our fees” option so more of each donation reaches the cause
- Pass Stripe fees to clients on project deposits without inflating base pricing
- Make fee recovery conditional (e.g., only when someone upgrades to a paid plan)
- Add fee recovery per ticket type for events and track the recovered amount in entries
Improvements in 4.6.23
Here, we made some notable improvements in this update.
GiveWP Donation Migration
The GiveWP migration tool introduced in 4.6.22 is now more resilient across a wider range of GiveWP configurations. We’ve improved handling for edge cases involving donor metadata mapping and subscription status alignment, making one‑click migration more reliable for older sites and customized setups.
Multi-Select Checkboxes in Tabular Products
Tabular product fields now correctly handle multi-select checkbox columns. Previously, selecting multiple options could cause inconsistent totals or display issues. Selection state and price calculations now remain accurate no matter how many items are checked.
Fixes in 4.6.23
This update also includes two targeted bug fixes:
- Conditional logic validation (required file upload fields): Required file upload fields inside hidden conditional blocks were incorrectly triggering validation errors. Validation now checks visibility first.
- Stripe IPN sync: Some Stripe webhook events weren’t reliably syncing payment status back to submissions. IPN handling has been corrected so that renewals and one‑time confirmations update submission status consistently.
